What we collect

Why we collect it

How we use it

Personal data is used only for the purposes listed above and consistent with the customer's instructions. Backbuild does not sell personal information and does not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising.

Sharing

Personal data is shared only with sub-processors engaged by Gable Digital Solutions, Inc. to deliver the service, and with third parties where disclosure is required by law or to protect the rights, property, or safety of Gable Digital Solutions, Inc., its customers, or others. The current sub-processor list is maintained at sub-processors.

Backbuild Miles

Backbuild Miles is our mobile trip and mileage tracking application. When you use Backbuild Miles, we collect the information described below in addition to the account and usage data covered above, and we associate it only with your organization.

Trip and location data

We collect the trips you record, including route and location data, distance, and timestamps, whether you enter a trip yourself or it is captured by automatic trip tracking.

Phone sensor data

To record trips on your behalf, Backbuild Miles reads sensor data from your phone. This includes your device location together with motion and related sensor signals from the device, such as accelerometer readings, barometric pressure, and the operating system's own motion and activity signals. This sensor data is used only as part of our automatic trip tracking algorithms, to detect and record your trips for you. It is collected only while automatic trip tracking is turned on: if you disable automatic trip tracking, this sensor data is not collected.

Where your Backbuild Miles data is stored

Backbuild Miles data is stored in databases that are under our control and is associated only with your organization. We do not share it directly with third parties, except as described in our sub-processor list. Those databases may be hosted by various sub-processors, which are themselves identified in that same sub-processor list.

Traffic Signals

Traffic Signals is an optional feature that is off by default and that you choose to turn on. When you enable it, Backbuild Miles contributes only averaged speed data per map tile, aggregated across all participating users. It does not contribute your individual routes or identity: the data is averaged for each map tile and combined across all users before it is used.

Retention

Retention periods are documented at retention and deletion. Data is deleted or anonymized when it is no longer needed for the purposes for which it was collected, subject to legal retention requirements.

Your rights

Data subjects have rights of access, rectification, erasure, portability, and objection under applicable law. See data subject rights for details on how to exercise those rights.
